- To test the usage of WordPress block components
- ToDo?
- Refine the current Blockbase theme and create a new WindsurferLT child theme
- Test generation of a new Developers’ Guide, replacing the current Google Doc with a page whose master is edited using the Markor app on the phone, printing it as HTML, then embedding into a WordPress page.

Images and text
Image and text patterns

This “Media and text” block works best when the image us first imported into the WordPress library (with a good meaningful name, and in the best media folder).
Media relative sizing is used (35% here). Padding, margins and background are defined. This block type has no border control property.

We are very thrilled to have Stay Waiheke onboard as our Event Partner. Stay Waiheke offers a range of accomodation options on Waiheke Island.
To support our sponsor: visit their website for info on all their Waiheke locations and bookings.
A row with this text, then an image added as a “Custom HTML” block whose width is set to 150px, content as supplied. It might be placed into a footer?
A column set, with this text in the second column following the image’s column. They are set to 40%, 60% and have space between blocks set. The image’s width is set to 150px.
Summary:
- Columns seem to be better than Rows for images and text, and also better than the above that came from the image supplier. However the “Media and Text” block is OK too.
- There seems to be no way to do floating images.
Renaming image files
- Activate the Media Renamer Plug
- Use it to rename any image file
- Deactivate it. This is a possible bug fix, to ensure that it picks up on what it has renamed the next time it is activated.

Testing covers
A cover with a stack consisting of a heading and four paragraphs, this being the first. The cover has a 2px border, text set away from the default black, and is set to a duotone non-coloured background.
The width of the cover seems to be partly determined by the width needed by these paragraph objects.
The cover pic needs to be viewed from windsurferlt-org.nz. It does not show up from windsurferlt.nz
This cover could be saved as a Pattern??
Separator
A separator appears when inside a Group, but not when it is inside a Stack.
Calendar
Placed the embedded HTML in a group to display it in the centre of the containing object, and bounded as per the template. The iframe has properties:”width=”100%” height=”600″”
However we don’t like the way Google Calendar presents the events, so we will not be using it (10 July 2024)..
This is a quote: paragraphs contained inside a Quote block.
The following block’s notes need to be … noted!
This is how a citation for a block looks.
Themes
Get the custom parts, templates, etc from the “blockbase” theme into the child theme (make them global/common objects?) eg see this on Stack Overflow.
